Animal protection works day in, day out, for animals in need. We do this with our animal ambulances , animal rescue centers , inspectors and the thousands of volunteers we have in the country.
HELP TO HUMANS AND ANIMALS
Animal Protection strives to reduce or prevent disrupted animal welfare and to improve the situation for both animals and humans. We do this with various projects and service organizations such as Dierenbuddy, Helpdesk Rescuers and a dog walking service in The Hague.

Animal Rights stands up for the rights of animals. What counts for us: every animal is an individual with a right to life and well-being. Animals do not exist for us, but for themselves. Using animals as a product or tool is morally wrong. Human pleasure - such as eating animal flesh - or other purposes do not justify this. Animals, like humans, have a wide range of emotions and feelings. Killing animals and inflicting stress, fear, pain or other forms of suffering on animals, such as depriving them of their natural behaviour, is unworthy of humans and animals.

In Europe, millions of animals, such as monkeys, tigers and lions, are kept as pets, traded illegally or used in circuses and other forms of entertainment. This causes an unimaginable amount of animal suffering. AAP is an international animal welfare organization and believes this must stop!
Animal Sanctuaries
We are there for animals with - but certainly also for animals without an owner. Together we ensure more happy pets in Amsterdam. Most of the animals in our shelter have a strong story. They are real knuckleheads! Giving an animal a warm, loving home and an owner who both understands and respects him, that’s our bottom line. To bring about the day when all pets enjoy a happy life.
